So recently, I’ve been reading Chinese translated novels. One of it is A Mistaken Marriage Match: Mysteries in the Imperial Harem. It was a really good read even though I was so sad while reading it.

I love the storyline! And also the characters. I dislike a lot of drama and gladly enough, there’s not too much drama in this novel. This is the 3rd book of the A Mistaken Marriage Match series by Qian Lu. I actually have not read the 1st, Qing Mo’s story, and 2nd book, Qing Ling’s story.

There are three sisters, Qing Ling, oldest, Qing Feng, second, and Qing Mo, the youngest. They were all sent as tribute to Qiong Yue. Qing Ling was supposed to be send to Qiong Yue’s ruler, Yan Hong Tian. Qing Feng was supposed to be send to Lou Xi Yan, Prime Minister of Qiong Yue while Qing Mo to Su Ling, general of Qiong Yue. However, after committing suicide and failing it, they [people who were taking them to Qiong Yue] mistaken Qing Feng for Qing Ling and thus Qing Feng was send to the Imperial Palace instead and Qing Ling went to Prime Minister’s place. The emperor was furious when he found out and Qing Feng, because of her hatred for him, tried to assassinate him. However, things cannot be change and Qing Feng stayed in the palace and became Yang Hong Tian’s favorite concubine because of her different personality. In the palace, Qing Feng was placed with hard decisions to make and fell in love with the person she least expected to love.

In the beginning, I was confused with all the names. There were just too many characters and some looks the same. My heart hurts so much for Qing Feng  and many others, in some scenes. I was so glad that there was the switch between her and Qing Ling. She was more fit to go to the palace.  LOL I wish this was a movie instead because each time I listen to a song and was reminded of this, I want to edit so bad but then it’s just a book and not a drama therefore, I can not do it. But I shall forever remember this series. 🙂 It was a wonderful read and kept me off of stress and my busy schedule this week. I also want to read the other two books, her sisters’ stories and their children…
